WTF Is Showhouse?

Showhouse was called Ghostlight until October 2026.
What it is
Showhouse is a private, invite-only app for friends who love live performance: theater, comedy, opera, dance, and whatever else gets you out of the house at night. Go to a lot of it or a little. Track what you've seen, rate and review it, see what friends thought, and find out who's going to what, and when, so you can tag along.
Why I built it
I use Untappd for beer and Vivino for wine, but I had nothing for the thing I spend the most evenings on. My record of years of shows was a growing stack of Playbills and a lot of texts to friends asking “did you see it? what did you think? want to go?” I'd forget which ones I loved, which ones I walked out of grumbling, and who else had been.
Now I don't have to. Neither do you.
Who's behind it
I'm Jesse Swingle. I live in Queen Anne, love live shows of nearly every kind, and work in marketing as my day job. Showhouse is built, supported, and maintained by my company, Cedar Collaborative, a Seattle-based marketing company for nonprofits, small businesses, and startups.
How it works
- It's invite-only. You sign in with a 6-digit code emailed to you, with no passwords.
- Everyone in the group sees each other's ratings and reviews. Plans and what you've seen are shared with your friends. Private notes are visible only to you, though, if you want to secretly judge your friends in the show.
- Add your friends. Then you can see each other's plans, put each other on a night out, and argue under each other's reviews with Same, Disagree and Thanks buttons.
- Anyone can add a show. Showhouse tries to fill in details like dates and runtime from the venue's own website where it can, and anyone can fix what it gets wrong.
- You can download your own diary any time from Settings. Questions about the rest? There's a FAQ.
